The ultimate guide for walks, hiking and mountain trekking on the Canary Island of Gran Canaria, Spain

Gran Canaria is a paradise for hill walking in the Canaries, with inhabited cave villages, lake side walks, spectacular mountain scenery and wonderful flora & fauna especially in the Spring.  There are a great variety of hikes on outstanding trails, many of these are off-the-beaten-track and the climate is excellent for trekking.

We firmly believe that Gran Canaria is one of the last great hiking destinations in Europe still to be truly discovered by the British hiker.  Gran Canaria’s nickname is the mini continent, and it really does live up to that name.  There are many distinct areas and mini climates on the island, giving a great variety of hikes on one fairly small island.  We really believe that it is the variety of hikes here that makes Gran Canaria a potentially excellent destination

Guided Walks for Groups

My wife Eileen and I also guide walks for some local clubs and some English walking holiday companies, so please contact us if you require guided walks for a group of any size, as we understand why some people feel safer and more comfortable in a small group with a guide rather than hiking alone.  Gran Canaria is a safe place to trek, but you naturally pick up much more local information etc. especially with a resident English guide ( testimonials ).  We are experienced walking guides and you can be sure that we will always find the correct grade of walk for you or your group.  If you require a quotation for guided walks please contact us for an obligation free quote.

Having been winter visitors to Gran Canaria for the last ten years my wife and I have spent many hours driving around the Island and admiring the scenery.  However, eighteen months ago we were introduced to Roger Bradley and his wife Eileen who organise and guide walks in the mountains and decided to join their group.

The walks are strenuous but not overly so and both my wife and I found that we easily coped after one or two attempts.  We are both in our sixties and were not experienced walkers prior to this time.  We have found that all the walks have been geared to seeing and admiring the many views available on the Island and although there is always some uphill walking involved in order to gain the necessary height to fully appreciate what can be seen it is always worth the effort.

We have seen more and learnt more of Gran Canaria than we could ever have done by road and have had the additional benefit of making new friends at the same time
